She was both born in Riverside and graduated from UCR with a BA in Art History. Ten years later in 1964, she began drawing in pen and ink. Field Baker's style characteristically incorporates carefully articulated details in depicting architectural or natural landscapes. She has had numerous shows at local venues from the Mission Inn Gallery to the Riverside Community Hospital and the Riverside Art Museum. Additionally, she has illustrated educational books for the Victim Witness program and the YWCA and completed commissions for local patrons. In 1997 she generously made the Sweeney Art Gallery the repository of all her original graphic works on paper. To date there are 175 prints and drawings housed in the archive. © UC Regents and the artist.
