Henry Moore synthesized influences from Classical, ancient and non-Western art developing a highly influential body of work exploring the reclining human figures as a spatial composition of volumes and voids. In this way he unified his explorations into the possibilities of sculptural forms and materials with his concern for the problems of humanity. The two points represented here both provide insight into different physical relationships for his monumental sculptures.
