Everlovely Lightingheart’s installation blends modern technology with everyday objects to create a never-ending sound cycle. Physically, the piece consists of antique suitcases, wooden furniture, and other artifacts—mostly vintage and wooden objects—circularly arranged in the gallery space. Each object functions as a speaker and is connected to one of eight mini ipod shuffles. The ipods feature sounds, noises, and rhythms, which are randomly and continuously transmitted to the speakers. As the sound from each speaker blends and overlaps, the viewer experiences a unique harmonic event that can never be duplicated and will never repeat. The distinctive interplay of music and rhythms created by Everlovely Lightingheart calls attention to the singularity and ephemeral nature of sound as well as of the piece itself.
