| The piece I am creating for “People For A Better Tomorrow” at the Sweeney Art Gallery invokes a revolutionary and conscious-altering idealism for the viewer. My work examines machines, actions, and beliefs that contribute toward an individual search for freedom within the confines of society. The work that I am installing will be a collection of objects for "The Revolution" each containing it's own examination of radicalism, psychedelics, and the collective unconscious. The pieces are: a moonshine still, meditation machine, giant drum, Salvia Divinorum plants, and a "zine" with collected writings on a range of subjects including connections between the Hell's Angels and Gandhi. I view this piece as exemplifying my own personal search for understanding combined with a desire to create new visions within an estranged world. |
